This report, for reasons explained below, has been prepared in order to fill in gaps in the public record of facts and planning alternatives with respect to possible development of parking at Christie Place, and to make related recommendations. The report does not take a position on which of the available alternatives is best for Scarsdale, but the Committee will consider making such a recommendation after fair community discussion based the record in this report and clarifications subsequently becoming available. The basic alternatives include (a) a parking garage structure with approximately 400-420 spaces (420 spaces in the Desman Report), (b) continuation of some variation of a surface parking lot with between 150 and 200 spaces, (c) a parking garage structure somewhere intermediate between the Desman Report recommendation and the surface lot configuration.
